I believe in good things coming
“I believe in good things coming” is a project by the artist Luísa Mota that was carried out for the first time in London, in 2013, and is related to the performative work that the artist has been presenting in recent years. His performances are ephemeral events, halfway between theatricality and ritual, pop culture and self-awareness, which, by involving several participants, activate archetypes and images of the collective imagination. In 2014, she presented this same performance at the opening of the 3rd Bienal da Bahia, at the time entitled “Genesis e genîs”, with more than 80 participants. Later, in 2015, in Porto, she recreated the “Invisible Men”, through the various streets and points of the city. The purpose of the performances is to provide an exercise in collective and individual self-awareness, activating collective empowerment, through a spiritual dimension.
In Guimarães, the performance “I believe in good things coming” will take the form of a “march” through the city streets, in which participants will be dressed in “Invisible Men” costumes, supernatural entities that are part of the artist’s universe. The march will culminate with the occupation of the square and the entrance to the CIAJG, and will be part of the opening program of the new set of exhibitions "Voz Multiplicada".
The performance departs from Palácio Vila Flor, on Av. D. Afonso Henriques, and will walk through the city streets towards the CIAJG.
