SUNDAY JUNE 14, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Se esta casa fosse minha
Loja Oficina, which is like a home, joins its neighbors at Largo do Retiro for this special weekend to do the kinds of things people do when they come together to care for a house—opening the doors to anyone who wants to step in and enjoy a good time.
There will be workshops taking place both indoors and outdoors, at the front and in the back, and it even seems there’s a performance hidden among the trees in the garden.
The sweet part of the day will come in the form of cakes and biscuits, brought by a friend of the house—the kind we love to enjoy on a Sunday.
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Embroidering in the Square
Ana Silva
Embroiderer Ana Silva returns with linen and threads for attentive eyes, inviting the more curious to visit Loja Oficina, where the day’s activities continue.
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Creative Embroidery Workshop
Collective Rug
Lídia Araújo
We want to embroider a rug, applying the Guimarães embroidery stitch with new materials and at new scales. We want it to remain at Loja Oficina, and we want to create it collectively. We will embroider in the garden, enjoy the scent of camellias, and eat rosemary cookies.
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Embroidery-Inspired Workshop
On the Embroidery Swing
Mónica Faria
Together, we will weave a swing inspired by embroidery. This swing will become an interactive sculptural piece in the garden of Loja Oficina.
Free entry, subject to capacity
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Theatre
Stories of the Land
Lafontana
Lafontana presents a curious and playful approach to puppet theatre, using an original technique called the “Unconscious Theatre Machine,” invented in 1978 by Luì Angelini and Paola Serafini, founders of the Italian company Assondelli & Stecchettoni. In just a few minutes, participants play and reinvent fairy tales and literary classics, performing them using everyday objects that gain new life in service of the stories they tell.
Free entry, subject to capacity
